I like today and perhaps a little future still, but the past is really something I'm not interested in. So, as far as I'm concerned, I like only the past of things and people I don't know. When I know, I don't care because I knew how it was. Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld my most favourite fashion designer/ photographer/ a man of many traits. I l♡ve you.

philippe halsman & salvador dali The 1948 work Dali Atomicus explores the idea of suspension, depicting three cats flying, a bucket of thrown water, and Salvador Dalí in mid air. The title of the photograph is a reference to Dalí's work Leda Atomica which can be seen in the right of the photograph behind the two cats. Halsman reported that it took 28 attempts to be satisfied with the result.
#SalvadorDali "Dali Atomicus." 1948. Photo by Philippe Halsman. Salvador Dali (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989)
DALI ATOMICUS by Philippe Halsman, 1948. Portrait photograph of Salvador Dali (1904-1989), including objects, cats, and water caught in surreal motion. Halsman photo was copyrighted in 1948, but never renewed, so the image is now in the public domain.
first art sync photograph Dali Atomicus by Philippe Halsman. This photograph was shot live. It took 26 attempts, & over five hours to get it to look like this. Halsman would count, & on ‘four’, Salvador Dali would leap in the air, three assistants would throw cats, one other assistant would chuck the bucket of water, & Halsman’s wife would hold the chair as Halsman took the picture.
Dali Atomicus': Photo by Philippe Halsman, 1948 At the end of his shoot with artist Salvador Dali -- a session that took six hours and 28 throws (of water, a chair, and three cats), "my assistants and I were wet, dirty and near complete exhaustion," photographer Philippe Halsman reported. The resulting image, with a leaping Dali in midair amid the madness, is a portrait as kinetic and surreal as artist's own work.
This photo was made in 1948 and the subject was Salvador Dali himself. Philippe Halsman is the creator of this piece of art. It took him 26 tries and over five hours to have this image done. The photo is real as all you can see in the picture was an real act in front of the camera, no ticks or retouch. No more than three assistants threw the cats, one threw the water from a bucket and Halsman’s wife held the chair.

‘Salvador Dali A’ (Dali Atomicus) by Philippe Halsman, 1948 -- "In 1941, Philippe Halsman met the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí in NYC and they began to collaborate. The title of the photograph is a reference to Dalí's work Leda Atomica (at that which can be seen in the right of the photograph behind the two cats.) Halsman reported that it took 28 attempts to be satisfied with the result. This is the unretouched version of the photograph that was published in LIFE magazine."
Dali Atomicus, is perhaps Halsman’s most famous one. In 1940s Halsman had begun to collaborate with a surrealist painter named Salvador Dali. This photograph was named after Dali and one of his paintings called Leda Atomica. The painting was still not finished at the time of taking the photo and is visible behind cats on right hand side. The entire effect in the photo was achieved by suspending objects like chair and painting, throwing bucketful of water and cats in air, and a jumping Dali. Yes, the man in the picture is Salvador Dali. It took six hours, 28 jumps, and a roomful of assistants throwing angry cats and buckets of water into the air to get the perfect exposure. The photograph also refers to recent discovery of the times that all the matter hangs in a constant state of suspension. Halsman developed a philosophy of jump photography, which he called jumpology. He published Philippe Halsman’s Jump Book in 1959, which contained a tongue-in-cheek discussion of jumpology and 178 photographs of celebrity jumpers. His 1961 book Halsman on the Creation of Photographic Ideas, discussed ways for photographers to produce unusual pieces of work, by following three rules: “the rule of the unusual technique”, “the rule of the added unusual feature” and “the rule of the missing feature”. Celebrities photographed by Halsman include Alfred Hitchcock, Judy Garland, Winston Churchill, Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Dandridge, and Pablo Picasso, Ford family, The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Marilyn Monroe, Maria Felix and Richard Nixon. Many of those photographs appeared on the cover of LIFE magazine.

Alexander Mcqueen was one of the most influential fashion designers, and inspired many styles and trends that we still see today
Look 1 - fashion designer portrait - instead of cigarette replace with scissors, and maybe not the finger in mouth thing because I would mess it up because only certain people can pull that off! But I have a skull that would work really well for this!

Perhaps the most haunting powerful photograph taken by Tim Walker is this portrait of a contemplative Alexander McQueen gazing directly into the camera lens, in 2009. The image is particularly eerie, when you realize that McQueen committed suicide in 2011 / Alexander McQueen with skull cigarettes Clerkenwell, London, 2009 © Tim Walker

Mr. Fashion Designer: Alexander McQueen ● Skull Jewelry
Alexander McQueen photographed by Tim Walker I learned a big lesson from this picture. I havent properly met Lee McQueen before and I always thought he had a dark, gothic personality. When you do a portrait, you spent a lot of time researching about that person trying to understand them without knowing them. And you think how can i get to the core of who they are and capture them? We worked with Andy Hilman, the set designer, and we came up with this cross-bone bow tie, and the skull we fitted it to Lees head. So basically the skull was supposed to be on his head and he was going to wear the bow tie. And he turned up and I told him what we wanted to do; and you know who you dont want to force someone into a situation that isnt comfortable for them because then its an irrelevant photograph, because it turns out to be more about you than them. He tried the bow tie on and he said: This is crap, I dont like it. This is awful. Im not wearing this. He ripped the bow tie off, took the skull off his head, lit a cigarette and took another cigarette and stucked it in the skulls mouth and said: This is how I am, this is who I am. I think when someone gives you something like that, they are meeting you and revealing something about themselves. This was the last picture taken of Lee and I know that he really liked it. There was the rebellious aspect cause he was a rebel. This picture became particularly significant because he died a week later after this picture. I think is hunts people because of that. Because of the motif of the skull and his youth and his arrogance and his performance and his rebellion. -Tim Walker
