To begin any pottery project you have to condition your clay before taking it to the wheel. thi is called Wedging, its a dull tedious and labour intensive.

I built is made out of PVC. Last week Miri, over at Nick and Miri’s PR Prattle had some fun ideas about PVC including this get dolly for kiln shelves (photo below). The Rincon Facebook Fan Page had some more ideas too. I love the description of PVC being tinker toys for adults.  ha!

Clam Shell Raku

A Clam Shell Raku Kiln at Frog Hollow Craft Center, Burlington VT. The plans for this type of kiln was brought to the US from NZ, by Robert Compton.

This is about the size I would be looking at. A bench, a wheel, some shelving, and some storage. Probably need more shelves for greenware and stuff, but this would work just fine.
