the mists of avalon - marion zimmer bradley
The Women, Worth Reading, Marion Zimmer, Mists Of Avalon, Legends, Books Worth, King Arthur, Zimmer Bradley, Favorite Books
One of my All TIme Favorite Books! "There is no such thing as a true tale. Truth has many faces and the truth is like to the old road to Avalon; it depends on your own will, and your own thoughts, whither the road will take you." The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley. Pinner writes: "The magical legend of King Arthur vividly retold through the eyes and lives of the women who wielded power from behind the throne - Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake, and Morgan Le Fay (Morgaine.)"
The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley. My favorite fantasy novel. Fantasy isn't my favorite genre, but this is a book worth reading and re-reading. A story set during the Arthurian era, much of it told from a woman's perspective, about what life was like back in those days when Christianity was gaining steam. A wonderful story and well written.

Bernard Cornwell Arthur Trilogy - Fabulous

The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell is the first in a trilogy on Arthurian Legend and the best one I've read.

Wutheringheight, Worth Reading, Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë, Books Worth, Emily Bronte, Movie, Favorite Books, Great Books
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte - I have never liked any movie version of this I've seen, so I never made the effort to read the book. That was a mistake that I recently rectified. It has simply never been adapted to the screen properly. Such a powerful story! I don't think it was insanity, particularly on Catherine's end. Dysfunction...oh yes. And there were no ghosts. *rolls eyes* But I do think they were two people who were bigger and wilder than their humanity allowed them to be.
My absolute favorite book , read it about six times, just between ages 12 and 14. Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte: The ultimate gothic romance. Full of mystery and misery.
Another book I've read over and over #wutheringheights #heathcliff #cathy
Wuthering Heights - Emily Brontë This is literally my favorite book in the entire universe. Every time I read it I love it even more.
Wuthering Heights (it better be worth reading)
One of my favorites since I first picked it up. A book worth reading over and over again.

Want to Read: Claire Randall is leading a double life. She has a husband in one century, and a lover in another... In 1945, Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon—when she innocently touches a boulder in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an "outlander"—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of our Lord...1743. Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire's destiny in soon inextricably intertwined with Clan MacKenzie and the forbidden Castle Leoch. She is catapulted without warning into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life ...and shatter her heart. For here, James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a passion so fierce and a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire...and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Her husband is two centuries away, she is related to her lover's mortal enemy, and her neighbors think she's a witch. In this unforgettable novel of time travel, Diana Gabaldon fuses wry, modern sensibility with the drama, passion, and violence of eighteenth century as she tells the story of one daring woman and the man who loves her.
Scottish time-traveling historical fiction smut! Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - love the first book, need to get the rest of the series. (Every woman should have her own Jamie Fraser.)
One of my favorite book series! Historial fiction with time travel! Outstanding! Outlander is first in the series! Highly recommend this series!

Little Women, Louisa May Alcott. Not the cover I owned, mine was purple. Unfortunately not many people gifted me books (people normally gave young girls dolls or clothes where I'm from) but one old family friend gave me this and it's one of my favorite books ever. I wish people gifted more books to children.
Little Women, my first girls' book club when my daughter was in jr. high!
Sep 30 - ON THIS DAY in 1868, the first volume of Louisa May Alcott's beloved children's book Little Women is published.
Classic book - can't believe how many young girls haven't read it!
My favorite book growing up was Little Women. I always wanted to be Jo March. Still do.
Little Women is one of many books that my mother introduced me to as a young girl that I read over and over and over and over again. Maybe it was because I wanted a little sister, and lived vicariously through the sisters in this family. I still read a book each week, and remain passionate about reading...and holding books in my hands (even though I read books on my IPad, too!)

Thomas Gainsborough´s daughters
Portrait of the Artist's Daughters (about 1763-64). Thomas Gainsborough (British, 1727-88). Oil on canvas. Worchester Art Museum. Here Gainsborough suggested his daughters' interest in his own profession by showing them holding drawing materials and next to two classical sculptures. X-rays reveal that Margaret stood originally on the left side of the composition, facing her older sister, Mary. By repositioning her, Gainsborough stressed the close relationship between the two girls.
