Adding pavers around a standard concrete walkway can give your entrance a little something extra. And so much less expensive than redoing the whole thing. This would look great for our front walk way when we do finally get our sidewalk poured.
I would consider houses and even the color of the door public art. In Scotland, many houses have bright colored doors so that when people coming home from a late night out wouldn't mistake their house for another.

I love the thought of a home with an old wooden screen door like you see on all the houses out in the country in the movies. The ones that squeak a lil when they open and snap back closed. And it's yellow! I love a yellow front door!
