Maudite is another great beer from Unibroue. I am generally not as much of a fan of red amber ales, but Maudite has more of the flavor of a darker beer. Rich and malty to start with the right amount of spice and hops to give it a great finish. It matches well with greasy foods like pizza or chips and will add a great accent to a grilled steak or burger.

This Maudite, this beguiling nectar of the damned, is an amber ale of warming malt and orange and cloves and flowers. It's also my favorite beer in this wide world.

Unibroue makes a number of excellent beers. La Fin Du Monde (The End of the World) still stands out as one of my top beer picks. Really full of flavor but still smooth and not heavy. 9% alcohol gives it a good kick. It is great with a thick steak or salmon. But I can enjoy this by itself on a Summer evening or eating a pizza.

The Top Ten Belgian Ales at the Beer Trials: La Fin Du Monde, Chimay Blue, Saison Dupont, Allagash Tripel, Delirium Tremens and more.

Chimay is like the champagne of beers. Light and smooth with tiny bubbles yet full of flavor. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. Great with a strong cheese or sushi.

After discovering and enjoying American "Belgian Style" beers I found some traditional Trappist beers imported from Belgium that are a real treat. - I actually like the red label & we've also tried the blue label.

Fantastic
