Cowboy Casserole (Mer approved). The family liked it. It isn't the healthiest of meals, but it's hot, quick and not hard to make. And the kids cleaned their plates. And no one handed it to me in a bag.
Sweet Tea and Cornbread: Crunchy Honey Garlic Pork Chops!.....I adjusted the sweetness down on the glaze and it was a big hit with the family. I cooked a family pack of pork loin chops & the leftovers were gone the next day which is a true sign of a winner at my house.
Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Curry Condiments
Ina Garten's Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Curry Condiments Recipe.....We loved this! But before I make it again, I'm going to make sure I have a better vegetable peeler. Peeling the butternut squash was a chore!
IMPROV kitchen: tip: how to cook bacon, the easy way Next time I may try putting aluminum foil on a cookie sheet and then laying the bacon on cooling rack on top of the cookie sheet so that it's not cooking in the grease.
Bacon & Cheese Quiche... use a pre-made roll-out pie crust, then whisk together about 5-7 eggs and 1-2 cups milk, add about 1-2 cups shredded cheese about 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, and 3-5 slices of crumbled bacon. Pour into pie crust. Pop it into the oven at 350 degrees for 40-60 min, until a fork poked into the center comes out clean.
"For anyone that may not know, the BEST way to make hard-boiled eggs is in the OVEN! Place the eggs in a muffin tray so they do not move around, turn the oven to 325 degrees, pop in for about 25-30 minutes and remove! Not only are they tastier, but they also are much easier to peel!" TRIED IT AND IT WORKS!!!!
(SS) Mini meat pot pies/muffins. Made the cheeseburger version. This has lots of potential. You can make a breakfast one to freeze and microwave. The kids were thinking of ways to make a dessert version (cherry pie filling sugar in the bisquick mix). If you have baking mix, eggs, and milk, you could use it with lots of stuff.
Masamun Curry.....I added all the other ingredients to the curry before I added the chicken back to the sauce. I also chopped up some thai basil and some cilantro and let people add that, too, if they wanted. Served it over jasmine rice. I thought it was very tasty!
