Angroboda

Angrboda is a giantess. She is the mother of three monstrous children by Loki. Their children are the Fenrir wolf, Jormungand (Midgard Serpent) and Hel (ruler of the Underworld). Angrboda means “The one who brings sorrow”.

JORMUNGANDR - he is a JOTUN sea serpent, the middle child of LOKI and ANGRBODA. His full siblings are FENRIR the wolf and HEL.  ODIN took LOKI's children. He tossed JORMUNGANDR into the ocean that surrounds MIDGARD. The serpent grew so big he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail, and as a result he earned the alternate name of Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. JORMUNGANDR's arch enemy is the AESIR god THOR.
