Kevin Cyr's awesome pop-up tents (..). The Camper kart is portable home that boasts a cozy-looking bed, a lantern and even storage space. The earth-friendly shelter is made largely out of recycled materials that could potentially give the world's less fortunate a sheltered, private space in which to lay their heads at night. Great Idea for some homeless people who do not want shelter help. Camper Kart is a Tiny Home That Pops Out of a Shopping Cart Camper Kart by kevin Cyr – Inhabitat - Sustainable Design Innovation, Eco Architecture, Green Building
artist Kevin Cyr takes the concept to the extreme. For his latest crowd-funded project, Cyr found a ubiquitous shopping cart and inserted his pop-up camper design to create the Camper Kart. Don’t be fooled by the compact exterior — Cyr has managed to pack storage, table and seating space, as well as lighting inside the space of a shopping cart.

Camper Kart Fits Inside a Shopping Cart? For the "Urban Nomad" Clever idea but who is this for? What homeless person could afford such a thing?
Kevin Cyr recognizes that although some people choose to construct tiny houses out of a deep love for the environment, hundreds of thousands of people around the world don’t have the resources to build their own home check out Kevin’s Home in the Weeds. The house above is Villa Mecklin, designed by Huttunen + Lipasti + Pakkanen Architects. It is located on a rocky Finnish island. According to ArchDaily (the source of these photos, taken by Marko Huttunen), most of the architectural problems were hammered out on site, negating the need for work drawings. Construction went at a slow pace, but the result is a home that is fully integrated into its environment.

Designer Robin Falck has created his very own micro home that is small enough to be built without a permit in Finland.

Designed and built by 21-year-old industrial design student Robin Falck in the Finnish archipelago of Sipoo. I love this! I like when tiny houses make creative use of outdoor spaces for living. This will be a challenge during the 6 months of winter here.
6/6 In Finland, you can build a tiny home under 130 square feet without a permit. This micro cabin was built by designer Robin Falck. It stands with a total space of 96 square feet, with a 50 square foot loft, and a large window overlooking a gorgeous lake. It took two weeks to build with £10,500 in materials. It was named Nido, meaning “nest” in Italian.

MICRO CABIN IN FINLAND Micro Cabin, nicknamed “Nido,” was designed and built by Robin Falck to enjoy once out of the military. It took a while to design and Falck consulted with a couple of architects to get everything right, but the results are phenomenal.
In just two weeks, Finnish designer Robin Falck built in Sipoo Finland, a wooden hut called "Nido" (birds nest in Italian) that has one floor. All parts are functional and large windows are there to enlarge the space. #architecture #cabin #wood #mini #micro

In 2010 I wanted to build a place of my own. I found this beautiful slot and I set out to design a compact get-away for myself. I also wanted to maximize this small space, use local/recycled materials and build it myself. In june that summer I started building my cabin. It took me two weeks to build it (only thing missing was the door and window which arrived a week later). The angle and size of the window gives the interior a lot of natural light, you can even admire the stars during the night. I wanted to welcome in the beautiful surrounding. On the first floor I have a lounge area with a micro-kitchen. The 2nd story loft is for sleeping and storage. All the materials are local or recycled and carried to the spot by hand to keep the nature untouched. When I was done with it I named it Nido (italian for 'birds nest'). Photos: Robin Falck

It pushes the building industry to re-imagine business as usual, and it transforms building occupants from passive consumers into active stewards of increasingly scarce resources.
The Living Building Challenge is one of two finalists in this year's Buckminster Fuller Challenge. This is the second time the team has been honored with this recognition. The LBC is the absolute highest ecological standard that a building can possibly achieve, and program has taken huge strides since it participated in the 2010 competition as it officially certified the world's first living buildings
